In 2010, a team of Chelmsford educators created a plan to clearly define the manner in which the Chelmsford Public School System will develop and implement Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plans (“the Plan”) to insure the emotional and physical safety of our students. This plan is modeled after the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Model Bullying Prevention and Intervention Plan and includes the years of professional development and bullying rubrics and procedures created by the staff of the Chelmsford Public Schools. It is designed to satisfy the requirements of by M.G.L. c. 71, § 37O, added to chapter 92 of the Acts of 2010, entitled An Act Relative to Bullying in Schools as signed by the Governor in May 2010. As a follow up to the development of this plan, a group of teachers and administrators met in 2011-2012 to find a meaningful way to incorporate bullying prevention and intervention into a district wide focus to meet the non academic needs of our students. This committee, called the PRIDE committee, has put together this helpful training Power Point to demonstrate how we in Chelmsford meet the expectations of our plan.
